Leslie Larson by Pearl Larson
Leslie Larson, son of Francis Larson and Mildred Coulson Larson, married Pearl Jensen on September 12, 1936. He was the third generation to farm the land northeast of Erwin. When he retired, his son Dale (fourth generation) assisted by his sons Larry and David (fifth generation) continued to farm the land.

Leslie Larson by Pearl Larson
Leslie Larson (third generation) was born on the Larson homestead east of Erwin on Sept. 12, 1912. In 1933 Leslie moved back onto the homestead where he batched for two years before he married Pearl Jensen of Lake Preston, SD on Sept. 12, 1936.
The Dirty Thirties were being felt in this area, so along with many others, Leslie and Pearl knew the sting of no crops and the hardships that go along with that. in 1976 Leslie retired from farming. He remained on the farm and their son, Dale Allen Larson (fourth generation), who had been born June 8, 1943, continued farming the land. Dale had married Gloria Warner in October 1961.
Dale and Gloria had four children: Larry, David, Joann, and Beverly (who passed away). Larry and David help their dad farm the land. They are the fifth generation to work the Larson homestead.

Pearl's scrapbook has newspaper obituary that adds, "died Monday at Lake Preston" "services 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Bryant" "visitation at Johnson Henry Funeral Home, Lake Preston"

Leslie had a heart attach on the homestead farm while painting he and Pearl's house and died shortly after arriving at the Kingsbury Memorial Hospital. Pearl cherished the memory that he had said, "I love you" and what a wonderful meal she had made before he went out to resume painting.

Leslie & Pearl's house: When they first moved on there were only 2 trees left after the dirty 30's. Francis Larson built the first addition in 1915. Leslie built the second addition in 1955.
1978 picture shows Les & Pearl celebrating their anniversary and Les's 66th birthday at Montpelier Motor Inn, Montpelier, Vermont
