| Noter : . Notes for THOMAS COULSON: The dates for the Thomas Coulson family were given to Pearl Larson by Alyce Coulson Owens. Pearl's notes also show 12/23/1857 as a birthdate for Thomas They farmed in Denver Township. Homesteaded in 1880. Retired from farming when he was 47 years old. After a fire destroyed their house. Moved to California. Returned to SD in 1909 to have a sale. George (son) continued to farm his land until 1912. They had a large family, eleven children. #1 & #2 were twins that died at birth. #3 Henry born 1884 had a bad heart and passed away 4 1/2 years later. #4 George Born 2/27/1889 - married Elizabeth (Lizzie) Karban - they had one son Malden that was killed in a car accident. Both buried in Lake Preston Cemetery. Thomas Coulson was born in Liverpool England to Mildred Armstrong Coulson and Joseph ("Henry" so Francis Wienk says) Coulson. He was educated there. Came to US with his parents in 1881 where they lived on a farm nearl St. Charles, MN, moving to SD and bought 6 quarters of land north of Lake Preston. His brothers helped him farm. Later (sister) Rebecca's husband helped. Tom Coulson's place is the Arthur Marquardt farm. ************************** Picture on Pearl's page for Thomas Coulson has three boys captioned "Charlie, John & Lenard Coulson".
